(TUBA, BENGUET) – Philex Mining Corporation, one of Southeast Asia’s oldest and largest copper and gold producers, and a leader in right and principled mining in the country, recently honored its rescue team that saw action in search-and-rescue and search-and-retrieval operations at the landslide incident at Brgy. Ucab, Itogon, Benguet brought about by Typhoon “Ompong” (international name: Mangkhut). The devastation resulted in the deaths of at least 60 small-scale miners and their relatives. On hand to honor and recognize the heroism and determination of the rescue team members in simple ceremonies held at its mine camp in Padcal were, starting from 6th left, Mine Division Manager Ric Dolipas, Mill Division Manager Milton Agyao, Philex President and CEO Euls Austin Jr., and Assistant Vice-President and Assistant Resident Manager Roy Mangali.
